If you think of a seesaw this starts to make sense. If the person is sitting on the end of the seesaw, it takes more effort to lift them than if they sat closer to the middle(fulcrum) of the seesaw.
Tomorrow we will tackle an interesting problem, We have one large board of wood and need to cut out 18 lever arms. We need to figure out how much wood and how to cut the wood so we can accomplish the task.. The secret to solving this lies in the directions. Figure out which requirement you need to start with and then follow the trail until you figure it out. This will be on page 10 of your Lab workbook.
